The Namib

After a short stayover in the market town of Mariental, Triin has to show her driving skills again. On the gravel roads of Namibia, you can ride tens and tens of kilometres without a curve, but you have to be careful for the occasional stone, hole, or crazy four by four, especially when driven by a 200 kilo weighing Boer from across the border.
Kilometres and kilometeres of these gravel roads took us to the hard of the Namib dessert: the wonderful area of Sesriem and Sossusvlei. Here a pereninal river breaks through the red sand dunes, right to the heart of the sand sea. The combination of 200 meter high dunes, dried up pans with dead tree trunks and a playful early morning sun was nothing less than amazing. Before the midday heat arrived, Joonas really enjoyed playing in what must be the biggest playground of the world. We climbed the dunes, enjoyed the view and ran off as fast as we could. Wooow!
